COAL MINING IN THE ROSTOV REGION
is one of the main directions of development of the region’s industry. The territory has the richest deposits of unique high-quality anthracite. The volume in the total mass of explored deposits is 90%. In terms of quality, coal in the Rostov region is considered to be one of the best in the world and belongs to superanthracite – anthracite with the highest degree of coalification.
Coal at the Zamchalovskaya Mine is metaanthracite – coal at the last stage of coalification. The percentage of volatile materials in metaanthracite is ≤2% of the total mass, and fixed carbon is ≥98%.
The data confirm that the coal in both seams belong to the category of anthracite, with an average ash content and low sulfur content. According to the Russian nomenclature, the Zamchalovskaya Mine is a class A deposit.
